Quantity Surveyor

A Quantity Surveyor (QS) is a construction industry professional with expert knowledge on construction costs and contracts.He is generally responsible for figuring out just what a construction project is going to cost. His other roles includes making sure that construction costs and production are managed as efficiently as possible.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contract Preparation: Prepare contracts, including detailed quantities of required materials.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct ongoing cost analysis of maintenance and repair work.
  • Feasibility Studies: Perform feasibility studies for client requests and project requirements.
  • Payment Coordination: Analyze completed work and arrange payments to contractors.
  • Work Allocation: Allocate upcoming work to contractors based on project requirements.
  • Site Assessments: Conduct site visits, assessments, and projections for future work.
  • Value Engineering: Apply value engineering techniques to optimize cost, quality, and performance.

Job Qualifications

  • Professional Attributes: Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong analytical and planning skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Technical Software Skills: Experience working with AutoCAD and related tools.
  • Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic construction processes and procedures.
  • Budgeting Expertise: Strong budgeting, cost estimation, and cost control skills.
